Milling cutter carves snow tracks into the cooled ice track of a ski jumping hill

Cooling for ski jumping hills with MASTERTRACK

We plan and integrate cooling exclusively for new or existing MASTERTRACK facilities. This allows for a precisely prepared cooled ice track for training and competition.

How the cooling of a ski jumping hill works

Cooling pipes connect the ice area of the approach track with the cooling system. The plant and piping are designed for the respective ramp. Therefore ramp cooling already begins in the technical planning.

After assembling the ice block, the track milling machine grinds the grooves into the ice. The cooling maintains the required temperature while the milling technology forms the track.

We plan and integrate this cooling exclusively as part of a new or existing MASTERTRACK system. Cooling lines, plant construction, launch track, milling technology, winches and steel construction are coordinated. The project may also include assembly, commissioning and the agreed acceptance.

How we operate MASTERTRACK cooling systems

Remote monitoring

Through remote monitoring we can classify operating states and check technical anomalies. The data available depends on the respective facility and its equipment.

Maintenance under high load

We prefer to inspect cooling systems when outdoor temperatures are warm. Then the system can operate under high load and be tested under demanding conditions.

Disruptions and repairs

If there is a fault, we inspect the affected cooling system and classify the error technically.

Frequently asked questions about cooling ski jumping ramps

Does Peter Riedel GmbH provide cooling for other track systems as well?

No. We plan and integrate cooling exclusively as part of new or existing MASTERTRACK facilities. We do not offer separate cooling services for facilities from other manufacturers.

Can an existing MASTERTRACK system be retrofitted?

Yes, cooling can be retrofitted in an existing MASTERTRACK system. First, we clarify the existing track layout, the technical connections and the necessary modifications.

Can the cooling system be monitored remotely?

Yes. Remote monitoring is part of the requested service.

How are maintenance appointments scheduled?

Maintenance dates are coordinated with the operator. During the work the approach track is not usable.
