The first training day at Kulm is behind us and the track passed its baptism of fire with flying colors. Simon Ammann, Peter Prevc, Stephan Kraft and substitute Andreas Goldberger agreed in their conclusion: The track runs like a dream! The feedback noted that Goldberger, on his first jump, deliberately sat far back in the approach position to expect hits at entry and exit from the radius—yet there were no hits. On the contrary, the run-up resembled a top motorway with smooth acceleration.

Harald Haim, Hubert Neuer, Alex Stöckl, Heinz Kuttin – the list of organizers and officials who are full of praise is long: “These are standards that have been set here by Peter Riedel GmbH,” said ÖSV General Secretary Klaus Leistner on the sidelines of the opening ceremony, whose highlight was Conchita Wurst’s performance. “The jumpers are all enthusiastic,” agreed race director Walter Hofer. “This praise makes us incredibly happy and I am proud of my team and its work,” Peter Riedel rightly says.
