Everyone who knows me knows that I always strive to maintain and continuously expand my relationships with the international ski associations to the best of my ability. From time to time, this also leads to real partnerships and friendships. I am not exaggerating when I say that in recent years such a friendship has been created with the Nordic combined athletes of the Austrian Ski Federation.

On Thursday I traveled from Trondheim to my homeland, so I did not miss welcoming the national team at my friend Frank Weber's traditional establishment, Cafe König in Oberwiesenthal, on the occasion of the Summer Grand Prix there. A reception of ÖSV athletes has long been a tradition, whether at the recent Junior World Championships or at the annual Summer Grand Prix.

Over a cozy Oberwiesenthal beer, which the team truly deserves after a successful Grand Prix opener (two third places!), and Norwegian delicacies like salmon and moose salami, we talked about the sport and exchanged interesting stories and anecdotes. There is nothing nicer than combining private and professional life! And you would be surprised how much you can learn and take away when you listen to the athletes and coaches. “In talking, people come together” - so again last night! Thanks for the entertaining visit and all the best for the upcoming competitions!
