BARCELONA, June 4, 2014 - “Spanish with Peter” this time at the beginning.
Tapa is Spanish and stands for “appetizers.” In keeping with that, last night there was a large selection of tapas. At the restaurant “telefèric” the best tapas in the city are served cold or warm. Whether octopus or the steak, everything is very delicious. The service (a pretty waitress) is very good and the address is highly recommended: Placa Doctor Letamendi 27. For us it was the crowning finale of a long day.

On this day I also had a pleasant conversation with a competitor about suppliers and innovations. An ICE IRON is also a topic for them. Therefore we could briefly discuss technical questions.

Even FIS President Gian Franco Kasper, who still vividly recalls our pleasant conversation in Zurich, is now occupied with our folder. The FIS Nordic Combined committee offered us – just as the ski jumpers did the day before – the opportunity to present our product palette in the form of our image trailer. Our trailer was well received and I was especially pleased by the applause in which the new DSV president Dr. Franz Steinle also participated.

Time and again the paths cross with “my president”! As a member of SC Partenkirchen it is naturally an honor to spend time with Michael Maurer. He has been president of the Bavarian club since 2007. This is the fourth time Maurer travels to the FIS Congress. “Nowhere else can you find so many representatives and friends of ski sports with whom you can exchange experiences,” says Maurer. He can only welcome the fact that the Vierschanzentournee already starts on Sunday, 28.12. “That’s a great thing! One has to see the overall picture of the Tour. For the athletes and all involved, two days off between jumping in Oberstdorf and the qualification in Garmisch-Partenkirchen give the opportunity to start into the second competition more relaxed.”

The answer to yesterday’s “Spanish with Peter” question is: “deporte de invierno“. Birgit Bubner is the winner of the book “Spuren des Erfolgs” - please send a personal message on Facebook with your postal address!
