Diary from Barcelona Day 1 – So much has happened since arrival!
BARCELONA, June 2, 2014 – The journey from Dresden to Barcelona went smoothly and here I am, there I am!
BARCELONA, June 2, 2014 – The journey from Dresden to Barcelona went smoothly and here I am, there I am! The IOC Congress of the International Ski Federation (FIS) takes place every two years and is a highlight on the calendar of the stewards of winter sports. The commissions of all disciplines meet for their meetings, also sessions of the “Athlete’s Commission”, the “Medical Committee”, the “Coordination Group Youth & Children”, the group “Public Relations and Mass Media” and many more. Around 70 (!) meetings are on the schedule.
Then there is of course the Council Meeting and a number of receptions, cocktail parties, gala dinners by the inviting Spanish Ski Association and the FIS.
For Peter Riedel GmbH it is less pleasure than hard work. In the coming days it is about presenting the products designed and newly developed in the previous winter to the decision-makers of the FIS. For this reason, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow presentations at the Commission sessions for Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined are planned. It is also about talking to decision-makers of various associations and organizers of World Cup or other large events.
It’s fun to market our own products and to be able to lobby! Time to discover the Olympic city of 1992 will probably not last, but a detour to a tapas bar has already been realized.
Before I close the diary entry, a bit for the general learning effect: Spanish with Peter!
¡buenos días! What it means, everyone knows: Good day. But what does Schanze mean in Spanish? The answer will be tomorrow, or send me the answer on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/peter.riedel1963?fref=ts
Best regards from Barcelona and see you later!
