Traces in the Norwegian backcountry
Our next project takes us again to Norway. But as remote as this one, we have rarely realized a project before.
Our next project takes us again to Norway. But as remote as this one, we have rarely realized a project before. In the middle of Norway, over four hours northeast of Bergen, lies the small village of Hafslo. With just over 600 inhabitants, it sits by the Lustrafjorden, and the landscape appears quiet and idyllic. But it wouldn’t be Norway if there wasn’t a ski and cross-country area in even the smallest town, namely the Sogn Skicenter.
The ski jumping sport had been present here before as well, though it is several decades ago. At the initiative of several veterans, five clubs from the surrounding area have now joined with exactly one goal: to revive ski jumping in the region. And so, a small but fine hill complex with three hills is currently taking shape at the Sogn Skicenter, for which we delivered and installed the Clubtrack lane for two of them. A really great project, in which sustainability—everything is built entirely from wood—is a priority.
Just like the warmth and enthusiasm with which the organizers are getting to work here. Such people are needed to promote and further develop ski jumping. I personally am very grateful to contribute my small part and hope that ski jumping will again inspire many children at the Sogn Skicenter in the future!
