For almost every winter sports fan, Kitzbühel is more than just a small town in the Tyrolean Alps. Made famous by the legendary Hahnenkamm race, it can no longer be omitted from the alpine Ski World Cup calendar. There, where today the chic crowd admires the ski heroes as they bravely race down the Streif, more than 60 years ago my father, as a ski racer for the former East Germany, was already in action.

Now, exactly 63 years later, this circle closes. But this time it has little to do with the alpine circus; rather, we bridge to my pet project, the Nordic field. Because what many do not know: in Kitzbühel there is also a ski jumping center. With four hills at K-points 10, 20, 35 and 45, it is an important Nachwuchs-Training center in Tyrol.

And right there, at the Schattberg, a protrusion of the Hahnenkamm and thus only a stone’s throw away from the famous 'Streif', we have the honor to equip the largest hill with our Clubtrack track. The 85-meter-long, very flat approach will receive a rejuvenation. In the substructure we will balance various irregularities and make minor profile changes. The aim is to provide a great hill for year-round use - and we will give our all as always! We look forward to this 'historic' assignment!
