During the jump-in of the new 100-meter hill in Hinzenbach, ÖSV eagles and the young up-and-coming jumpers of LSV OÖ not only showed their skills. They impressively demonstrated what can be expected on the new hill. Junior World Champion Michael Hayböck was allowed to be the first jumper over the takeoff and astonished all spectators by flying to 97 meters.
“This is insane. I am absolutely thrilled!” described UVB Hinzenbach chairman and LSV ÖO vice president Bernhard Zauner moments after the jump-in. “Despite the uncertainty about how far the hill would allow, Michael Hayböck did not shy away from going all out. He delivered a great jump to 97 meters. I am overwhelmed!” said Zauner.
From the jump-in feedback, the hill builder receives important insights for fine-tuning. The angle of inclination and the length of the take-off table can be adjusted. “A change to the current settings is not necessary based on the feedback so far. The hill fits perfectly,” Zauner welcomes the successful dress rehearsal.
A heavy task awaited the first jumper. Junior World Champion Michael Hayböck, together with his jumpers colleagues, set the start length. “We decided to start about halfway down the approach. After we had tailwinds, it was the right decision and I achieved a relaxed jump,” Hayböck rejoiced about the premiere. The Nachwuchstalent Daniel Lackner, impressed with the new jumping facility, said: “The facility is modern and suits me very well. I’m already looking forward to the Austrian Championship in a month, which will take place here. It will be a real home competition for us,” said Lackner.
