PARTENKIRCHEN – Just in time for the Four Hills Tournament and the prestigious New Year's Jump, the Ski Club Partenkirchen has taken an innovative step into the future. Although all eyes will be on the traditional New Year’s jump at the Olympic Hill, in the future, outside the Tour, the smaller HS 89 hill next door will be increasingly in focus.
The club president of SC Partenkirchen, Michael Maurer, signed on December 28 together with Peter Riedel, managing director of Peter Riedel GmbH, the contract for the execution of a project previously unique in Bavaria: equipping the HS 89 hill with a specially developed, innovative ice track.
The hill operators in Partenkirchen want to test the outfitting of a normal hill with a double-slurry system as a year-round track with the help of the Peter Riedel GmbH outfitting a normal hill with a double-slurry system as a year-round track – with this step the hill in Partenkirchen becomes the first smaller normal hill in Bavaria to receive a summer and especially a much-needed ice track. 'Normal hills are incredibly important for teams in training. But in Bavaria none of these hills has been equipped with an ice track so far. By installing and testing ours in Partenkirchen, the site makes a big step forward in terms of training opportunities. Previously, many teams, including the DSV, had to move to Hinzenbach in Austria; in the future they can train in Partenkirchen,' explains Michael Maurer.
