The RAW Air ski jumping series in Norway, where on the Osler Holmenkollen, in Trondheim, and at the Vikersund ski flying hill on Riedel-inrun tracks, came to an end on Sunday evening and was a complete success for all involved. For ten days, the world’s best jumped not only for World Cup points but also for an extra prize money of 60,000 euros for the winner. The check and the large crystal globe went to Kamil Stoch, who had already won the Tour with a “Grand Slam” and Olympic gold this winter.

Peter Riedel was also very happy. “To top up runs systems within a few days at three different facilities posed us with logistical and organizational challenges, which we masterfully overcame. At all competition venues we were certified for perfect work, and we thus depart Norway grateful.” That there was no new ski flying world record to celebrate in Vikersund — fine. “Last year Stefan Kraft from Austria and Robert Johansson from Norway set absolutely new benchmarks,” says Riedel, “and I think these distances will hold for longer.”
Riedel emphasizes that both the ski jumping circus overall and their own actions were aided by good weather conditions, which “naturally made the preparation of the inruns easier. But once again we have proven that the Riedel track is reliable and fast in all meteorological conditions, whether in sunshine in Vikersund or in two days of continuous rain in Innsbruck for the Vierschanzentournee.”

“I would like to thank the hill operators and World Cup organizers for the excellent cooperation this winter,” explains Peter Riedel, “and to everyone who trusted and supported us at and away from the hills. And last but not least, a big thanks to my people—for without my team we could not celebrate one of the most successful seasons of Peter Riedel GmbH.”

Riedel’s work was also acknowledged by the public broadcaster ARD, which will likely report about Oberwiesenthal more often in the future. “Some new projects are already in the bag or in the pipeline,” says Riedel. “Our work does not end with the World Cup. After winter, there is known as before winter.”
