Peter Riedel – SportsTechnology introduces a new track
Stainless steel and porcelain are combined into a top track for clubs. We know it from the kitchen: porcelain is expensive, porcelain is delicate. Stainless steel, on the other hand, seems to withstand occasional cooking mishaps flawlessly.
Stainless steel and porcelain are combined into a top track for clubs
We know it from the kitchen: porcelain is expensive, porcelain is delicate. Stainless steel, however, seems to withstand occasional cooking mishaps flawlessly. This is exactly what FIS has understood for years, recommending the cheaper and more robust stainless-steel version for youth and club ramps up to K70. A track can last up to 30 years – ideal for smaller clubs and ramp operators. So far Peter Riedel GmbH has focused mainly on plastic tracks; now it is also entering the stainless steel market with the innovative 'The Original' track.
'We analyzed the stainless tracks of different ramps and found a major problem: the existing stainless steel studs negatively affect the ski surface, especially when the stainless heats up under sun exposure and the plate reaches up to 60°C,' explains managing director Peter Riedel. Riedel therefore set out to build clubs a customized, innovative and high‑quality track tailored to their needs.
The challenge in developing the new system was to create a starting track that is high quality on the one hand and affordable for clubs on the other. The new club track achieves exactly that. 'A great offering for youth – you immediately think about expanding the series of starting tracks in Partenkirchen,' says Michi Maurer, head of SC Partenkirchen, who already equipped his HS134 and HS89 ramps with tracks from Peter Riedel.
The system can be ordered either as a summer and winter track or as a combined track. 'We have focused mainly on simplicity in the development. Maintenance and upkeep are minimal, the preparation of the winter track is possible with a simple ice scraper, and we can supply the track itself as a self-assembly kit. The stainless-steel track from Peter Riedel GmbH is also equipped not with stainless steel studs but with studs made of high-performance porcelain – another market-leading feature compared with existing tracks. 'With this we guarantee both the longevity of the track and top quality and great safety in the start-up behavior,' says Riedel.
If clubs still desire, higher-quality stainless steel studs are also available. In addition to these specific features, the basic framework of the club track is based on the patented Peter Riedel starting-track system, which has been used for decades on over 26 international ramps.
With the new club track 'The Original' young jumpers can finally train like their big role models.
