There is a first time for everything. Barely had the installation work on the famous Holmenkollen begun when Peter Riedel was invited to the famous royal box on Wednesday. King Harald V was not there, but the Norwegian television, which reported on the same evening in the nationwide evening news about the renovations to the jump.

“We knew that all of Norway would be watching us. But to make it into Norwegian television in the very first installation week, and in the prime time of the evening, even surprised me,” explains managing director Peter Riedel.

Earlier, he and his team had to deal with completely different problems: a winter storm. On the day the new approach slope began to be mounted, Mrs. Holle also reported for duty. It started snowing. “We had actually expected damp, chilly, gray November weather and fog over the Oslo Fjord. Instead, we were initially treated to sun and crystal-clear blue skies and now surprised by the first snow. But that is not a problem for us. We will complete our work on schedule in any case,” promises Riedel.

Immediately after the Christmas holidays, the Norwegian national team would like to prepare on the Holmenkollen for the Four Hills Tournament. From March 9 to 11, the FIS World Cup in ski jumping, Nordic combined, and cross-country skiing is on the program. And who knows, perhaps Peter Riedel will be allowed into the royal box once again.
