Peter Riedel GmbH supports the women's bobsleigh team from Kurort Oberwiesenthal

Teaser: Those who travel far, home is usually the most important. After many years of ongoing commitment on international ski jumping hills, Peter Riedel GmbH is this year increasing its support for projects in the home region of the Ore Mountains. Initially, managing director Peter Riedel agreed to help steer the concerns of the FIS Summer Grand Prix Nordic Combined Organizing Committee; now he extends his support to the women's team “Oberwiesenthaler Fichtelblitz.”

Together with the town of Kurort Oberwiesenthal, Peter Riedel GmbH supports the ambitious project of four female employees of the town hall to participate in the Hornschlitten Cup in the coming winter at its three stops in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Brotterode and Kurort Oberwiesenthal. Since 2012 the dedicated women have been starting in the local Hornschlitten race on the Fichtelberg; so far, fun has been the main focus.

“We previously had only a hopeless Hornschlitten, but now we have commissioned a ‘competitive’ model from the Brotterode hornschlitten builder Ralf Messerschmidt,” explains Jennifer Hengst. The goal is not only to participate in all three races but also to encourage other teams from the Ore Mountains to take part at all stops of the Hornschlitten Cup.

“We hope for plenty of snow so that we can begin a few training runs in December. Because we also have a lot of catching up to do in the technical area,” says Diana Turtenwald, who, together with her colleagues Sarah Schlosser, Cornelia Richter and Jennifer Hengst, mainly hopes that the race at home will receive even more praise through their engagement.

A first step has already been taken: on the occasion of the Oberwiesenthal Market Festival, the athletic quartet will be introduced on the market square in Oberwiesenthal – just one week before the FIS Summer Grand Prix in Nordic Combined.

For Peter Riedel GmbH it is clear: the company is happy to support these committed and ambitious women from the Fichtelberg!
