To one day compete with the giants of ski jumping, it is important that youth work can be conducted professionally and at a high level. This has also been recognized by the responsible parties of WSC Erzgebirge Oberwiesenthal e.V. and the town of Kurort Oberwiesenthal, who pushed in this year for an upgrade of the youth hill K 51 on the Fichtelberg.
Since the costs of €14,000 were not provided for in the budget of the town or the association, the two partners and the commissioned Peter Riedel GmbH agreed on a unique financing model: The company from Raschau in the Ore Mountains laid its new and innovative club slope “The Original” on the youth hill at the preliminary cost price, and the financing is secured through a charity drive in favor of WSC. “To ensure the operation of the hill even in winter, we could not delay the rebuilding unnecessarily. We as a company are fortunately able to handle this option at short notice – because this was mainly about acting quickly and effectively to guarantee training opportunities for children and youths for the winter,” explains managing director Peter Riedel of the extraordinary step. The now-installed club slope is a cost-effective yet high-quality club variant of the patented system by Peter Riedel, installed at over 25 hills worldwide.
The trusted collaboration of all partners and the rapid installation by Peter Riedel GmbH made it possible to conduct first test jumps already this week – the upcoming ski jumping season on the Fichtelberg is thus assured.
