Peter Riedel GmbH represented in Cancun

For the 50th time the FIS Congress is currently meeting for its assembly – this year the meeting takes place at an exotic location: Cancun welcomes the representatives of the International Ski Federation under the sun of Mexico.

Also in attendance is Peter Riedel, both for his company, Peter Riedel GmbH, and for the organizing committee of the Summer Grand Prix Nordic Combined in Oberwiesenthal, which he chairs as president. Riedel has been a guest at the Congress for the third time. In addition to important innovations and information for the implementation of the SGP, Riedel will also take the opportunity to present his “New Generation” of starting tracks. 

The ice starting track already tested at Kulm and in Garmisch-Partenkirchen sets new standards in ski jumping. Unlike the conventional cooling of the entire starting track ice block, in this modern plastic track only the actual contact surface of about 7-8 cm thickness is cooled. This not only saves a substantial amount of energy, but the system is also significantly more resistant to external influences such as rain and mild temperatures. A calm and disturbance-free approach is thus guaranteed even at higher speeds and the forces acting on a ski flying hill – an innovation of Peter Riedel GmbH, which after its baptism of fire at Kulm worldwide sets new benchmarks.

“We are continually striving to develop further. Therefore, the FIS Congress is a good forum to present current developments and gain new impressions. Just in time for the Congress we had a new image book produced, which we will present here – I am curious to see what valuable feedback we receive on it and on our ideas,” says Peter Riedel looking forward to the Congress.
