Peter Riedel GmbH is expanding its already top-class and mature portfolio with another product: in the future, the Saxony-based company will offer high-tech plastic snow carpets in Germany. The product named “365” is a high-tech development manufactured on Lake Constance and distributed from Switzerland, which…

Thousands of small, resistant plastic bristles provide skiers with a snow-like feel for cross-country skiers, alpine skiers, and jumpers. The difference? The mats can be used even in midsummer, and entirely without moisture,.

“We had previously worked with special carpets on our hills to simulate landing on snow. These ski mats go one step further – the glide is so realistic that it can also be used for alpine slopes and snow plow driving,” explains managing director Peter Riedel on the decision to partner with RS Kunststoff GmbH.

The high-tech ski carpets have already passed their baptism of fire: for half a year, junior jumpers and ski jumping fans could test the landing feel on the mobile K4 ramp of Peter Riedel GmbH in Tschagguns. It was used in winter and now in summer operation to inspire a broad public for the sport. Landing on plastic hardly stood out – the landing felt so realistic.

“With this product, you can really move something, especially in such warm winters as we’ve experienced. Whether lift operators use them for tracks, cross-country clubs lay out a small training circuit with them, or ramp operators want snow-like conditions on the slope even in summer: we were immediately impressed by the product and look forward to adding it to our product range,” says Peter Riedel.
