RASCHAU - The Peter Riedel GmbH team has spent the last ten years of the year’s end in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Since the Erzgebirge company equipped the Olympic Hill HS140 with its patented spur system in 2007, Peter Riedel employees have always been responsible for competition support at the traditional New Year’s Jump of the Four Hills Tournament. A great honor and important task – yet one sour note remained: “The whole ski jumping entourage moved on and after all the excitement of this great event, we went back home to the workshop. Luckily, this will change in the future,” says managing director Peter Riedel.
The patented Spur System of Peter Riedel GmbH will also adorn Bergisel in Innsbruck in the future. In July the company received the go-ahead; production is currently completed and the spur system modules were already delivered to Bergisel last week and are ready for installation at the jump. Completion is planned for mid-October.
“As a base and traditional home of the Four Hills Tournament, Innsbruck plays an important role for us in the ÖSV. In preparation for major events it is important to have decent training conditions here and a new, high-quality spur,” explains Heinz Kuttin, head coach of the ÖSV-Adler.
Peter Riedel will deliver exactly what he says: “The Four Hills Tournament is the highlight of winter for ski jumping. Here, unlike other major events, every year – regardless of conditions – an excellent and fair spur must be created. We have been working with ÖSV for a long time and very well, so I am all the more pleased that we can now tackle another beautiful and important project together!”
