Oberstdorf – our first jump in the Allgäu!
I wasn’t surprised when I received an email from the ski stadium operator in Oberstdorf inviting me to a technical discussion in Oberstdorf. I immediately got into the car and drove toward the Allgäu.
I wasn’t surprised when I received an email from the ski stadium operator in Oberstdorf inviting me to a technical discussion in Oberstdorf. I immediately got into the car and drove toward the Allgäu. What followed was a very pleasant conversation with interesting content, characterized by mutual appreciation. That the foundation for the joint collaboration was laid almost exactly a week later was extraordinary. If only all conversations went as smoothly and yielded such a positive outcome!
Joy and gratitude — these were the first two feelings that rose in me after the confirmation. Later this year we plan to retrofit the two HS25 and HS45 jumping towers in Oberstdorf to the Clubtrack system. The longer the wait before, the faster it goes now! It wouldn’t be our hundredth and two hundredth tower if we couldn’t keep pace with this speed!
What excites me most is that we will now also be represented in Innsbruck, Garmisch, and Bischofshofen in the Four Hills Tournament stadium! Not yet at the big hill of the Audi Arena, where the scene’s stars gather every year. For now, “only” on two small hills, but as the saying goes: “What is not can still become!”
For now, we have to crack a completely different nut. Price pressure in the material market is enormous; prices for steel and other raw materials are skyrocketing. Add long delivery times. To compare it with ski jumping: if “immediately available” were the K-point, we would currently be meters above the hill size on the jump record. We have our system partners and through a long-term partnership we will also be best served in times of crisis, which we are currently definitely in. All of this gives us hope that we can deliver on time even under such difficult conditions.
As far as pricing is concerned, we pursue a very clear goal. Even if market prices go through the roof, we want to pass on fair prices to our partners in the sense of a long-term cooperation and the motto “live and let live.”
We are doing our best to keep both delivery date and price as optimal as possible this time as well. For now, we are incredibly excited about the new project in Oberstdorf and a good collaboration!
Yours, Peter Riedel
