For the 2025 World Cup in Trondheim, nothing should be left to chance. Therefore, the Granasen Ski Center in Trondheim will receive a rejuvenation including the construction of new hill facilities. For us, this project is one of the largest in the company’s history, but also one of the most exciting! For the first time, a Mastertrack track will be reused by us. Re-Use instead of Recycle absolutely meets the zeitgeist!
The normalski jump track, which is no longer needed in Trondheim, was professionally dismantled by us in order to be rebuilt and reused 500 kilometers further south at Midtstubakken. The Nordic nation's sustainable thinking sparked the idea. The Trondheim municipality had already expressed interest in selling the track after dismantling, if the condition and quality permitted it. And it did.
“In Trondheim we built our very first ice track back in the day. It was exactly 14 years ago. During the reconstruction, a visual inspection showed that the condition of the old track, despite constant use, was actually almost perfect. The Oslo municipality had previously expressed interest in having an ice track at Midstubakken at Holmenkollen. Thus the idea of the track transfer was born,” she/due to context, "he/she/they"? Peter Riedel about the idea.
After dismantling the track was brought to the Raschau company, where it was cleaned, overhauled, and damaged parts replaced. As early as October the track parts are to be shipped back to Norway to be put to their new - old - purpose at Midtstubakken in Oslo.
“Sustainability has always been and remains very important to us. And such a project is sustainability in practice. High quality does not have to be discarded, but can and should be reused,” says CEO Riedel.
