The Vikersund Ski Jump Center is getting an expansion! In addition to the existing ramps, over the past weeks in Vikersund (NOR) work has been carried out on another project, namely a new K65 hill. After a construction period of less than 3 weeks, the final touches were completed with laying the track. For the Peter Riedel GmbH, the Mastertrack approach rail installed in 2017 on the ski flying hill in Vikersund has now also brought the K65 hill up to date with a Clubtrack system.
The Managing Director of the Vikersund Ski Jump Center, Björn Espen Hovde, sees a real enrichment in the new hill: “The new K65 hill in Vikersund is another upgrade to our ski jumping center. The contact and exchange between Peter and us has always been very good; we have built a real trust base. And since we had good experiences with the ski flying hill rail, it was natural to rely on a Riedel rail for the new K65. From now on we have the option to train on an ice rail, and with a completely new system. The first jumps were made already last week and the feedback was consistently positive. This weekend we have the Masters World Championship and I look forward to the test event on the new hill.”
For the first time Vikersund is using a a completely new system, with cooling integrated into the clubtrack approach rail. The newly developed cooling system enables even more efficient and economical operation. With this product, Peter Riedel GmbH has managed to give clubs access to a cost-saving variant of the ice rail in the future. Additionally, the installed ice milling machine is equipped with an improved ice processing system. A smaller design, less weight and an even more precise milling are the main advantages of this new Riedel development. Both the new cooling system and the milling machine are TÜV certified and meet the highest quality standards. The new Clubtrack approach rail will be added to Peter Riedel's product portfolio and the know-how acquired during this project will feed into future developments.
The K65 is now ready to jump and will be put to test this weekend as part of the Masters World Championship from January 25–27. In addition to the K65, jumps will also be attempted on two other ramps (K45 and K105)
