The K 60 ski jumping hill in Predazzo in the Val di Fiemme (ITA) shines in new glory. A total of 5 jumping hills are located in the town center, the three smaller ones received a “refreshed look” with the renovation and the new approach area “Clubbahn” by Peter Riedel GmbH. Since the Nordic combined and ski jumping competitions are held on the larger hills, the K 60 hill has not been in operation since 2001. Both a side band and FIS homologation were missing. Since spring, renovations to the hill have been underway, and this Thursday at last, the first jumps on the new takeoff were completed.
The feedback from young athletes was consistently positive, and the head of ski jumping in Predazzo, Sandro Pertile, was also pleased: “We have worked hard for this project for the last 15 years and finally received the financial resources. The ski jump.” The hill has not been in operation since 2011; our young athletes had to train in Stams in summer and Seefeld in winter. Now they can finally train here at home, I am very happy about the renovation. The new building is also an important first step for the Olympic bid. If Milan gets the 2026 Olympics, then a whole new era would begin in Predazzo.”
In addition to the Ski Jump and Nordic Combined World Cup, which is held once a year in the Val di Fiemme, Predazzo is considered an important location for young Nordic talents in the Italian Ski Association. Recently, Predazzo made headlines about the Milan 2026 Olympic bid. If the Games are awarded to Milan, the ski jumping and Nordic combined competitions will be held in Predazzo.
For Peter Riedel GmbH, this is the first project in Italy, of which Managing Director Peter Riedel is particularly proud: “I am pleased that we won the contract to build the hall for the K60 in Predazzo. Jumping hills for juniors are always something special.” A passion project for me. Moreover, this is the first project for our company in Italy, which is something special. Thanks to those responsible.”
This weekend, the first competition on the new hill will take place at the Italian Youth Championship.
