For all those active in winter sports, low temperatures and snow are an important, though nearly the most essential, livelihood. Therefore, Peter Riedel GmbH has long been committed to sustainable solutions in all areas.

In all our products we rely on economical and environmentally friendly solutions. Our cooling units operate with the latest technical and most energy-efficient standards. We strive to use materials that are sustainable and quality-tested and can be easily returned to the recycling loop. Our goal is always to achieve the best possible cooling performance with minimal energy consumption. This is achieved partly through our patented technology, where ice blocks themselves store the cold—reducing the need for external cooling. This has enabled us to reduce energy costs for cooling plant operation by more than 60% in the last 12 years!

But not only in cooling technology are we keeping pace with the times. Last year we installed in Trondheim—the venue of this weekend’s Nordic Combined World Cup—the first ice cooler that can be partly electric-powered.

Other companies have stagnated in development over the past decade and still rely on outdated technologies. Due to climate warming—which is undeniable—more and more energy is required, which in turn harms the climate. A vicious circle we early on escaped with a technological lead. Especially the Scandinavian markets, which account for a large part of our business, now demand climate-efficient solutions and insist on them.
