TRONDHEIM – After a successful premiere of the new RAW AIR series in Norway and two great competitions on the hills equipped by Peter Riedel GmbH in Vikersund and Trondheim, the Scandinavians continue to rely on the expertise of the Erzgebirge company: as soon as the season ends, the reconstruction of the Granåsen hill in Trondheim begins. On Thursday the old ice grinder will be dismantled and brought to Germany – a completely new rail system with an innovative ice grinder, already used in Vikersund, is to be installed in Trondheim by the end of July. With the upgrade of the ten-year-old technology, the Norwegians want to guarantee a consistently high-quality and fast preparation of the take-off. No wonder the athletes gave the monster hill in Vikersund a first-class take-off feel and a perfect ice track. For Trondheim, which according to the organizing committee will be the starting venue of the next RAW AIR, this is the chance to get even more into the discussion for hosting the Nordic World Ski Championships with this new standard.
