Today, Thursday, Saalfelden hosted the ASVÖ Family Sports Day for the eleventh time. The sports day is a festival of activity for young and old, where regional sports clubs present themselves and give visitors the opportunity to get to know and try various sports. This year, organizations collaborated with the Austrian Ski Association ÖSV and hosted the newly developed K1 ski jump. For on-site execution, SK Saalfelden and the ÖSV jointly took responsibility. Even small children can try skiing off the jump and gain first experiences. And the best part is that the jump can be quickly assembled or disassembled and transported on a car trailer. This ensures maximum flexibility in use. In any case, the new construction was well received by young and old and was in continuous use throughout the festival. As a special highlight, the ÖSV ski jumper, world champion and multiple World Cup winner Sara Marita Kramer stopped by and stood by the children with valuable tips.

“So cool that there is an offer like this for children. I started as a child on a small hill with no track using alpine skis. The kids have great fun poking their noses into ski jumping on the K1 hill. Some were really motivated and there were already really great jumps. I already saw a few talents,” the Salzburg star was full of praise for the children.

For Michael Grubinger, Nachwuchs- Projektleiter Skispringen im ÖSV, was it the first big audition for the new hill. “Our new K1 hill is perfect to bring the sport of ski jumping closer to the children. Unfortunately, ski jumping is no longer a given for children to come to it themselves. You have to bring the sport closer to them and make it appealing; the hill is worth its weight in gold for that. Everything from setup to dismantling worked wonderfully, the process ran smoothly and brought great joy to the children. The whole thing is only possible with strong partners like Peter Riedel GmbH and the company Hargassner from Weng im Innkreis, a big thank you for the perfect collaboration. The children took the hill really well, and when a star like Sara Marita Kramer looks over their shoulders and gives them tips, it is doubly motivating.”

Also Peter Riedel, who is responsible for constructing the hill, personally verified the success of the project on site. “The mobile K1 hill is a heart project for us because we like to work with and for the Nachwuchs. When, like today in Saalfelden, the children's eyes light up, that is wonderful. That’s why we have also contributed financially to the entire project. We are glad that the hill is being received so well and hope that many children can become enthusiastic about ski jumping.”
