The last spur project of this year is also finished. With the K28 ramp in Sohland we completed the sixth ramp in Saxony on Wednesday.

The Sohland facility is not virgin territory for Peter Riedel GmbH; since 2016 they have been in constant contact with the operator, the SC Sohland.

At that time, parts of the facility were renewed, but there was not enough money for a new track. So it was agreed to realize the construction of the new track at a later date and, for the time being, continue with the old track, which had already grown old.

Three years later, in 2019, the operator came to Peter Riedel GmbH with another idea. A height-adjustable ramp table should make the ramp jumpable under a variety of conditions, for different age groups and for both summer and winter. Said and done - at that time the first hydraulically adjustable ramp table was created, capable of adjusting by up to 10 centimeters. (we reported: www.peter-riedel.info/news/2019/detail/news/sohland-bekommt-verstellbaren-schanzentisch/ )

However, the condition of the old stainless steel track deteriorated increasingly, resulting in a decrease in launch speed and increased wear on the jumping skis. A new track is needed, and with the help of sponsors this project could also be put into action.

Last week club members dismantled the old track and prepared everything so that the new track could be installed this week. Peter Riedel GmbH covers all costs associated with track installation. After all, we also want to contribute to promoting skiing in Saxony and Saxon clubs.

The installed Clubtrack track was made from special plastic. In combination with high-quality porcelain tips and the adjustable ramp table, jumps can be made all year round without snow or ice preparation. This construction ensures take-off conditions like on ice, but completely without cooling systems and energy costs.

All-year tracks are absolutely in vogue. Especially in the current situation, where energy costs are so high and everyone is careful with resources. The Clubtrack track has the major advantage that the effort for track preparation and cooling costs is completely eliminated. This benefits the environment and saves the club substantial costs. For jumping, only the take-off slope and the ramp outlet need to be prepared with natural or artificial snow, which in the Sohland facility can be done within two days. An absolutely ingenious thing, says Peter Riedel, about the major advantages of an all-year track.
