RASCHAU, January 8, 2013 - As a superior World Cup leader and 22-time winner of an individual World Cup in Nordic combined, Jason Lamy Chappuis comes to his home World Cup in Chaux-Neuve next weekend. A few days ago the amiable Frenchman won the competition in Schonach in the Black Forest and extended his World Cup lead over second-placed Magnus Moan (NOR). Lamy-Chappuis now leads with 455 to 383 points. In the all-time list of winners he has moved within one triumph of Felix Gottwald (AUT), who holds 23 daily wins for fourth place, behind Hannu Manninen (FIN/48), Ronny Ackermann (GER/28) and Bjarten Engen Vik (NOR/26).
The home event is especially favorable for Jason Lamy Chappuis, who has finished no worse than second in five competitions since 2010 and won in 2011. The world star of Nordic combined likes competing there, surely because of the thousands of fans he can mobilize, but also because of a perfect hill. After modernization a few years ago, Peter Riedel GmbH led the way together with partner REHAU, and the world champion and Olympic champion Jason Lamy Chappuis has repeatedly stressed how much he enjoys jumping in Chaux-Neuve: because the track is perfect and there are no surprises, and because the hill workers deliver outstanding work overall.
Peter Riedel, his employee Wolfgang and Thierry Dietrich from REHAU France will be on site personally to ensure and verify the high quality of the approach track. “After the outstanding success at the Four Hills Tournament, where our approach track in Garmisch-Partenkirchen was praised by all involved to the highest degree, we now also want to show our class in Chaux-Neuve,” said Peter Riedel. “Some facilities may be more prominent than others — but clearly to us all are equally important. This is an important part of our company philosophy!”
