No steel edges on our starting tracks!
I want to take a current case as an occasion to inform all ski and ski jumping fans, athletes and hill operators once again of an important message! STEEL EDGES have NO PLACE on our starting tracks!

STEEL EDGES have NO PLACE on our starting tracks!
Some time ago, a summer hill in Predazzo was jumped with alpine skis. The hill operator had not been informed or asked for permission beforehand, otherwise he would of course have prevented it. The whole action is very bitter because the starting track was damaged by the steel edges. Both the side rails - whether made of stainless steel or plastic - and the Pozellannoppen are massively damaged by the steel edges. Due to the high friction of steel on the nubs or the side cheeks, deep-seated damage is programmed!
Due to the increased wear caused by the steel edges, the overall speed of the track is severely impaired, and the coating of the starting skis, which are trained on it afterward, is also severely damaged. The economic total loss of the track and the starting skis is one thing. But what really matters is the risk of accidents! Even a minimally damaged track increases the risk of accidents manyfold and can lead to serious injuries.
The first complaints about insufficient quality always reach us suppliers first. But that has nothing to do with warranty, guaranty, or the like. This is damage and destruction that is caused by improper use and handling of the starting track!
And as mentioned, this is less about the economic damage to the hill operator and more about the athletes' health as well as a massively increased risk of accidents!
Another point is the wax that is used. The International Ski Federation (FIS) has clear rules in this regard, but do people still adhere to them? NO!
We conducted laboratory tests, where we had to determine that almost anything that slides is used as wax! From gasoline to petroleum to hard wax, soft wax, yes even lubricant from a sex shop! That can massively damage the starting track and really is unnecessary!
For the sake of formality, I would like to add: Should there be complaints or problems occurring despite proper use of the track, these can of course become warranty cases, which we will process as always in the best possible and to everyone's satisfaction.
A wild growth of people using the track with devices, waxes or similar not intended for it must be avoided at all costs! Therefore: if in doubt, ask the hill operator first, he will tell you what is possible and what is not!
What I have written here applies to all hills, even mobile hills with only 15 meters of run-up! It is different in winter on an ice track - but here too: first ask the hill operator!
Thank you for your understanding!
