With the season-opening jumps for the DSV Youth Cup / Germany Cup, Berchtesgaden kicked off the most important youth competition series for ski jumping and Nordic combined in the 2017/18 season last weekend. For the first time, the K90 hill was jumped on, newly equipped with the Clubtrack system from Peter Riedel GmbH.

“The new track in Berchtesgaden has turned out really well. It’s no longer as serpentine as before, but runs nicely straight downhill and really pulls away,” explains Kilian Märkl from SC Partenkirchen with enthusiasm. With his jumps and the 4th and 6th places in the season opener, the 17-year-old ski jumper was not entirely satisfied.

“I unfortunately crashed during training on Thursday and couldn’t go as deep into the approach shock due to the bruises. Somehow everything felt a bit stiff,” says Kilian. After two wins, his clubmate Maximilian Goller leads the overall standings in the J17 men’s category. This weekend the Nachwuchsadler head to the Alpencup in Switzerland before jumping again for victories and valuable points in the Youth Cup / Germany Cup from September 14–16.

With the K90, Peter Riedel GmbH not only equipped the fifth and thus final jump in the location this summer, but also the first Clubtrack jump that meets the FIS normal hill guidelines. The Erzgebirge-based team is currently working in Innsbruck, because Peter Riedel GmbH’s patented track system will in the future also adorn the Bergiselschanze in Innsbruck.
