Hinterzarten - What takes a long time pays off!
Just about two years ago, Peter Riedel GmbH won the bid for the Rothaus-Schanze in Hinterzarten. We actually wanted to dive right in with the construction of the track, the cooling system, and the boards, but unfortunately we were shown the stop sign by the client side.

The new construction of the hill is basically finished and we’ve been at it for a good ten days! The track has been laid, and in the coming days the cooling technology, the side cladding, and the banners. After a total construction time of three weeks the project should be completed, the joy is great.
The Rothaus Hill is the largest of four hills in the 'Eagle Ski Stadium', which serves as an Olympic training base for ski jumpers and Nordic combined athletes in the Black Forest. Hinterzarten is just as internationally known as a venue for the FIS Summer Grand Prix in ski jumping well known.
The last project that implemented it in Germany is several years back. To be precise, seven years ago, when Peter Riedel and his team equipped the normal hill in Oberwiesenthal with a Mastertrack approach track in 2013. The current project in its ‘home’ country Germany is very special for Spurbauer Riedel. ‘I first presented my double-lane module in Hinterzarten in 2002 during the German Championship. That I now get to equip the hill there almost 20 years and many approach tracks later is very special for me; it completes the circle. It is an honor for me that we as a German manufacturer are active again in Germany after nine years and have successfully completed the track construction,’ says the managing director, who, as always, personally lends a hand during completion. What one can practically feel in Hinterzarten is the strong ski jumping community. The workers on site are extremely motivated; you can really feel the joy in their involvement. Added to this are the daily visitors to the hill. Whether passers-by, residents, coaches or the parents of ski-jumping enthusiastic children — emotionally, everyone wants to see the progress of the project up close on site. Even Peter Riedel GmbH

Many great and interesting conversations have already taken place, and you can sense that the project holds a certain significance in Hinterzarten.
The German Championship, which will serve as the 'baptism by fire' for the new facility, is planned for October; 2023 will then feature two highlights in the (Red) House: the women's Ski Jump World Cup and the traditional Summer Grand Prix.
