Draft: Every hill has its own tricks, quirks, and advantages—so the saying goes. The more remarkable is that at least one condition remains consistently good: the starting track. At the same time, in the coming days—the first weekend of the new year—the German Cup for ski jumpers and Nordic combined will take place at two different locations—but the starting-track system from the Saxon Peter Riedel GmbH remains the same.

While the Nordic skiers fight for places and medals in Oberwiesenthal, the specialists meet in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. A few days after the traditional New Year’s jump, Bavarians have little time to rest: the hill must be perfectly prepared, even if the big highlight of the season is already over.

That neither such major events nor the weather affect the top quality of the approach is shown by the direct comparison Oberwiesenthal – Partenkirchen. Over 450 kilometers separate the two locations, but the conditions regarding the track stay the same. The same system, the same ice structure, and perfect ice conditions ensure that at least this aspect of the competitions remains free from external influences.

Come wind and weather as it may—the perfect track for German junior jumpers has been laid.
