Garmisch-Partenkirchen shone with an excellent approach track

GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN/RASCHAU, January 2, 2013 – The New Year’s Jump is over, the tour and its participants are taking a rest day today. So time for Peter Riedel GmbH to take a quick look back.
And this one is only positive! “We witnessed skiing at the highest level in Garmisch-Partenkirchen,” summarizes company owner Peter Riedel, “and I am personally glad that we could contribute a small part.” The SKI-LINE approach and its additional features were praised by competition judges from the International Ski Federation, national associations or TV experts across the board. For what isn’t always achieved on other hills was perfected in Garmisch-Partenkirchen: absolute滑smoothness. “Especially DSV coach Werner Schuster raved about the ‘highway’ the jumpers encountered,” says Riedel, “which is why the approach speed was noticeably higher than, for example, in Oberstdorf.” The new milling machine and the related structuring of the ice also contributed to the product’s success; enthusiasm was also for the values and graphics delivered by the new measuring system developed by Peter Riedel GmbH. “The New Year’s Jump is increasingly becoming an interactive experience for TV viewers,” says Riedel.
And so the only small bitter note remains the not-quite-as-superb performance of the German jumpers. “What Anders Jacobsen and Gregor Schlierenzauer showed was great. But I, like many others, also hoped for Severin Freund, Richard Freitag and others…“ The fact is that the German Ski Association skipped training days in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in autumn 2012. “I am neither a coach nor an official,” Riedel clarifies. “But perhaps the DSV will again introduce this training course – also based on the experiences made.”
The look ahead at Peter Riedel’s house: in Chaux-Neuve the Nordic combined jumpers on a SKI-LINE track, in Trondheim the ski jumpers. Not to forget are the first official jumps in Nischny Tagil (RUS). Also not to forget is the ever-increasing usage of the K4 hill, where the champions of tomorrow are born. “And we have the New Year’s Jump 2014 already in sight. We will present ourselves again in top form and state-of-the-art,” promises Peter Riedel.
