Spring cleaning done!
While I’m here recovering nicely, my guys are doing great work again! It’s always a good feeling when we come back from our annual spring maintenance trip and know that we have brought a few jumps back up to speed.
While I’m here recovering nicely, my guys are doing great work again! It’s always a good feeling when we come back from our annual spring maintenance trip and know that we have brought a few jumps back up to speed. The first trip of the new 2025/26 season took us this time across Germany, further into the French Alps and back again through beautiful Austria. Not less than 2500 km displayed after the last week when we turned into the company driveway at home. A challenge for people and machines, efficiently inspecting, maintaining, and making three stations future-proof in just a few days.
The first stop awaited us in the beautiful Black Forest. There we conduct the obligatory annual maintenance each year. Starting with checking the approach track, through the control and maintenance of the cooling system, to the winch and milling machine, which were inspected thoroughly.
The journey continued to Courchevel. The village Le Praz, where the jump is located, lies scenically in the French Alps at over 1,300 meters above sea level. It’s been a while since we were here last. Actually since 2019, as we hadn’t been commissioned for maintenance in the last years. Since the ski club took command from the municipality again last year, we are back on board, which makes us very happy!
For the first inspection we came with a full crew because we didn’t know what to expect. Gradually we worked through everything and in the end one can say: All good, patient not dead. The track is actually in a great condition and still has many more years of life ahead. An 'upcycling' of the track - how we call it when the track is dismantled and rebuilt elsewhere - would also be possible without any issues.
The last stop of our road trip took us to Tschagguns in the beautiful Montafon.
With the extension of the FIS certificate, several things had to be implemented and renewed here as well. In addition to a complete general overhaul, we installed a new joint cover and our new 3D cutter system (more on that later). With this, FIS-compliant competitions remain fully possible!
In the end, one can say that thanks to our defined maintenance procedures it was a really smooth and efficient maintenance trip. Every employee sticks to the fixed procedures, which we largely document digitally. The administrative effort is thus minimized and we can focus on the essentials. Each maintenance is carried out quickly and efficiently and no unnecessary costs arise.
Fachmann statt Flachmann literally means: professional over casual! ;-D
