Busy little helpers on the hills of the world
When you look at the conditions outdoor sports events have to contend with, it is often not enough to install the sports facilities. Professional supervision, regular maintenance, and ongoing feedback between service provider and organizers are essential for the professional execution of first-class events.

This concept has also been used by Peter Riedel GmbH for several years: the Saxony-based company not only installs high-quality ski jumping runouts worldwide, it also takes care of the facility during the World Cup. This service began in 2008 for the Vierschanzentournee in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and since then there have been many deployments in Garmisch, Trondheim, Chaux Neuve, or major events such as EYOF 2015 in Tschagguns or the Ski Flying World Championships 2016 at Kulm. In both ski jumping and nordic combined, the Riedel helpers are in demand; with a distance of 1800 km, the trip to Trondheim is currently the team’s longest.
“Year after year our employees are on the hills of the world and, together with the great organizer teams on site, ensure that competitions and TV broadcasts are secured. It is precisely this professional cooperation that has built many friendships, because we don’t just sell quality work, but also feel connected to the sport and the partners on site afterwards,” explains boss Peter Riedel about his team’s work.
A special highlight this year was the work at Kulm, where Peter Riedel GmbH equipped the world’s first ski flying hill with a high-quality ice track and then, with two employees, daily ensured that everything ran smoothly during the season’s peak.
From New Year’s Eve to mid-February the diligent little helpers are on the move, which also means that New Year’s Eve has traditionally always been celebrated in Garmisch-Partenkirchen since 2007. And always with the knowledge: a few hours later all top conditions will be found here. If that isn’t a double reason to celebrate...!
