RASCHAU/RAMSAU, November 11, 2013 – Representatives of various national associations have already discussed the ÖSV’s “Speed Race” in Ramsau am Dachstein, which was installed by Peter Riedel GmbH and Rehau AG in recent weeks and months. In a single module there are three approach tracks – a world first that will provide the ÖSV with important insights into starting speeds for ski jumpers.
On Monday, November 11, the most important representative of the jumping division of the International Ski Federation was also on site in Ramsau. Walter Hofer, FIS Race Director in charge since 1992, personally inspected the test track and said afterward: “This is a very interesting facility that opens a new dimension for the ski jumping event. What the tests ultimately yield will be shown by the results, but I can imagine that other nations might also be interested in installing such facilities.”
The FIS World Cup season 2013/2014 begins in just under two weeks in Klingenthal. Let’s see how Ramsau’s test track will already reflect in the results by then!
