Hello from Trondheim! Almost halfway through the World Cup, and we’d like to drop an update. It’s amazing how time flies when you have such a packed schedule as we do at the moment. We’ve been here since Monday and after preparing the track and the positive FIS approval, it’s been all in from a few days now.

Our task is to ensure perfect conditions on the approach from first to last jumper. And those who know us know that we love doing nothing more! But with this tight schedule featuring a total of 13 medal decisions, it asks a lot of us. There are days that start at 8 in the morning and go until as late as 10 p.m. Our energy level remains high, and with such a team we’re highly motivated for the upcoming competitions.

This time, the biggest enemy is mostly the ever-changing and sometimes truly dreadful weather. When, like yesterday, rain pounds down, sensitivity is required to create fair run-up conditions for everyone. With our international team, made up of top experts in their fields across the board, such challenges can be mastered confidently. What makes it work is the know-how from different areas that, in case of need, comes together seamlessly. Steel construction, milling technology, ice specialists—everything fits together and works smoothly. I also want to especially praise the collaboration with the hill chief and the FIS. Everyone looks out for each other and does everything to deliver a solid product together.

Coupled with the latest technology, which we’ve introduced here at Granasen Ski Jump Center for the first time, this mix yields exactly what it is. A highly successful one.

It’s incredibly fun to contribute a little bit with such a motivated team to ensure this World Cup is a complete success. Here’s to the days to come!

Yours, Peter Riedel
