It’s going to be Raw!

Let’s go to the season’s last big highlight! A total of five men headed to Norway this week for Raw Air. And as the name already suggests — conditions are really “raw” here in the far north at the moment. Constantly changing weather conditions, snow, rain and wind made the first days in Oslo not exactly easy. With great effort, our team tackled this test with flying colours — the first events of Raw Air in Oslo have successfully taken place!
Almost simultaneously, two men were already working in Vikersund on the “Monsterbakken” in full swing to prepare the track for competition. And since it would be too easy without weather-related incidents, there was about 30 centimeters of fresh snow in the night from Friday to Saturday. After two of our cars encountered the wintry driving conditions and had a slide in the snowbank beside the road, we got to work. Shovels, milling machines, brooms — the motto to get the snow masses under control.
Even now, this Raw Air is something special for me. For the first time, the ladies are on board as well, a step I particularly value. Absolutely groundbreaking for the future of ski jumping and the sport’s development! The collaboration with the organizing committees works as smoothly as ever, it’s a lot of fun here in Norway to accomplish something together!
Tomorrow Monday the journey continues to Trondheim — we’re curious what the weather god has in store for us this time! One thing is for sure — RAW!
