If this weekend the stars of the ski jumping world soar to record distances at Kulm in Bad Mitterndorf, a small but fine delegation from the Ore Mountains is right in the thick of it! Peter Riedel and Lang Reisen from Schwarzenberg make it possible.
Yesterday (Thursday) the highly modern coach took the travelers to Admont in Styria, where the total of 54 participants - including 40 members of SC Pöhla - settled into their accommodation for the next three days. They won't spend much time there, though; the program is tight and has plenty to offer!
The weather today (Friday) did not show its best side, but that did not dampen the good mood. Peter Riedel personally welcomed the travelers and before immersing everyone in the World Cup atmosphere, there was an exclusive highlight on the agenda. Peter Riedel organized a behind-the-scenes tour of Kulm for the guests, one of the largest ski jumping hills in the world. No one is better suited for the tour than Riedel himself, as he knows the facility like the back of his hand from the construction of the track at Kulm. From the tower to the take-off lane, which offered a magnificent view of the complex, to the hill end and landing straight into the stadium—participants gained insights not ordinarily accessible.
“The idea for this cooperation originated last year. Rene Lang, the managing director of Lang Reisen, came up to me and the idea was born. Kulm offers a great opportunity to make ski jumping tangible for people from the Ore Mountains region at a reasonable price. I am glad that we can now offer such a great product together. This underscores the consistently positive connection we have as a company to Kulm. I look forward to three wonderful days at Kulm and I think people are already excited by the unique atmosphere,” said Peter Riedel
