A partnership that began last year with some safety-relevant adaptations of the plant in Eisenerz is now being expanded. Peter Riedel GmbH received last week the order from Eisenerz to carry out the comprehensive adaptations as well as support and maintenance of the windage technology and the running traces.
To anyone interested in the Nordic region, the city is well known as the home of numerous ski jumping and Nordic combined stars such as Daniela Iraschko-Stolz, Mario Stecher or Lukas Klapfer. The Erzbergarena, which the jump center was named, is and will be used and appreciated nationally and internationally as a training center. After several years of operation of the facilities in Eisenerz, some safety- and sport-relevant adaptations were necessary last year to keep the training and competition center, which has been an important part of the city of Eisenerz's sports infrastructure since 2015, in the usual perfect condition. Eisenerz calls - we are ready on standby!
After a short coordination and planning phase in the autumn of last year, Riedels team set to work immediately. System-relevant components, which are essential not only for training and competition operations but especially for the safety of athletes and staff on site, were checked in detail and, where necessary, revised or renewed.
“We already brought the windage technology up to date in October and also made some adaptations. It was not an easy task, but primarily necessary to meet European standards. In parallel, the milling head was completely overhauled to continue achieving the best cutter results for the trace in the future. These were, safety-wise, the most important things that have already been implemented,” reports CEO and company mastermind Peter RiedelAnd what started with the smaller adaptations has now grown into a bigger partnership.
“We are super happy that we also received the contract for the further adaptations and conversions. In the next step we will be responsible for the entire restoration, maintenance and servicing of all winch, cooling and start-track systems. This is a big deal for us and we are honored to be commissioned. It shows that many hill operators are completely convinced by our work. Even though it is a big challenge for us as a company, especially since we are not the builders of the facility and therefore have to adapt our systems technically,” says Riedel with satisfaction.
