Main text: In addition to working at Holmenkollen, Peter Riedel GmbH laid the first club track in Norway at Linderudkollen last weekend. Built in 1976, the facility consisting of five hills was rebuilt and modernized in 1999. A new launch track was now installed on K70 in record time, the first club track Double in Norway. The track, developed specifically for clubs and junior hills, was installed in ten hours and is ready for use.
“The new track looks great. Our young skiers can’t wait to test it as well. I hope it will be cold enough in two weeks for us to start snow production,” says Endre Landbø, chairman of Østre Aker Skiklubb, which operates the hills at Linderudkollen. “Peter Riedel has supplied many important jumps with his track system and enjoys a very good reputation here in Norway for his product. That’s why we also chose this launch track.”
The problem at Linderudkollen had been that the slopes are exposed to sun and wind, and the snow-ice mixture in the old launch track melted very quickly. With the new stainless steel track featuring high-quality porcelain studs, it is prepared for all weather conditions. If it gets too warm for snow in the launch track, they switch to the 'summer track' and land on snow at the exit. Endre Landbø could also imagine that one day summer jumping could be held here.
80 junior athletes of the ski club are looking forward to their first jumps this winter. Østre Aker Skiklubb is known for its good youth development. No one less than Anders Jacobsen began his career here. The Norwegian, who ended his career after winning team world championship gold in Falun, collected seven world championship medals and won bronze at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics as well as the 2006/7 FIS Nordic World Ski Tour.
