A pioneering cooperation with the Austrian Ski Association
RASCHAU/REHAU/INNSBRUCK, March 13, 2013
RASCHAU/REHAU/INNSBRUCK, March 13, 2013 – The logo of world corporation REHAU and of Peter Riedel, experts in innovative ski jump approach track technologies, adorns some of the world's most prominent ramps, and more are coming. But what has been negotiated behind closed doors in recent months is equally (or even more) significant for the equipment and support of the Tour ramp in Garmisch-Partenkirchen or the occupancy of approach tracks on (almost) every continent. For Peter Riedel GmbH and REHAU have entered a pioneering partnership, and with the industry leader in winter sports: the Austrian Ski Association.
'When you consider that Peter Riedel GmbH has really entered the public eye since 2008 with the commitment on the World Cup hill in Trondheim, the collaboration with the Austrian Ski Association established in 2013 is a clear sign of what has been achieved and which reputation has been built in the last five years,' says owner Peter Riedel proudly. 'Clearly: the ÖSV selects its partners by hand.'
'For REHAU, the collaboration with the Austrian Ski Association means that a breakthrough in sports and leisure has been achieved in our business area,' adds Sales Director Guido Warmuth. 'REHAU has the opportunity to place and further develop material competence with one of the most important winter sports federations, with the suggestions of the athletes feeding into product development in the future at all levels: elite, mass participation and youth sports.'
The collaboration, planned for several years, gives the Austrian Ski Association access on one hand to the latest developments of the polymer specialist REHAU, which employs around 17,000 people worldwide. On the other hand, the association benefits from the latest insights from Peter Riedel, a company that innovatively drives the development of approach tracks and also advances ice-cutters and -knives or data technology in cooperation with the University of Sports Science in Salzburg and other recognized international institutions.
Toni Giger, who has headed the development, research and innovation department at the Austrian Ski Association for two and a half years, speaks of a 'win-win situation' for all involved: 'We know that Peter Riedel and REHAU produce top products that can now be tested and further developed even better in cooperation with ÖSV. And for us, it is advantageous to have access to these products and materials, to use them for our purposes and to adapt accordingly.'
The competition in sports is getting tougher and tougher – technology increasingly important. Peter Riedel looks forward to being part of the Austrian Ski Association's success machine in the future. 'Working with the ÖSV is like a winter sports knight's oath. We are very aware of the task and the responsibility, but I can assure you: we will not disappoint.'
