Now the last track module from our company in Saalfelden has been laid!

After the refurbishment of the two smaller ramps in 2021, we are now also on the largest ramp in Saalfelden, the HS 85, a big step closer to completion. Last week the last of 56 track modules was laid in the 92-meter-long approach. After one week of construction time, the remaining works around the track are the side cladding, the stairs and gates, the ice machine and the cooling system.

For the cooling system, we leave nothing to chance in Saalfelden and only install the most modern technology, as is found on only a few ramps worldwide. The ice block is cooled with our latest system not only to minus 10 degrees but down to minus 15 degrees. The better cooling performance positively affects the quality of the ice, and the feedback from the jumpers on the already installed installations is excellent.

We will take these final steps with fresh energy after our well-deserved vacation in August, so that the ramp is ready for the first jumps in October. And they will, as far as everything goes to plan, already be done on the ice track.

None other than the top decathlete Mario Seidl has already announced his participation. I was so excited about his visit to the ramp! Mario's story is quite special. After several health setbacks, after overcoming a knee injury, he wants to make his first jumps here in Saalfelden, where he went to school. All the best for you, Mario, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you can do it!

It is a very cool story that we were allowed to equip the third and last ramp with our technology as well. Saalfelden is thus taking a big step closer to becoming a top training center. Its central location and the modernized infrastructure make it an important and indispensable part of sport in the region.

A big thank you goes to the town of Saalfelden and, in particular, to the team from the municipal works, who stood by us with full energy and supported us vigorously. We are already looking forward to giving the installation the final touch, until October when it finally says: Ramp free!

Yours, Peter Riedel
