FRANKENBERG - For the Day of the Bundeswehr on June 11, 2016 in Frankenberg, Saxony, not only the German Armed Forces under Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen are represented, but also the most athletic soldiers in Germany: the Bundeswehr sports support group.

In addition to the bobsleigh push track, slackline and laser biathlon, skiing will also be represented in the sports corner of the Frankenberg garrison. At the mobile ski jump K4 by Peter Riedel GmbH, interested visitors and young athletes have the chance to try ski jumping on a small scale. To properly prep the newcomers among the eagles of the skies for their takeoff, athletes like Richard Freitag and Philipp Mauersberger have pledged their support. Among the visitors are not only Mrs. von der Leyen but also other German and Saxon political figures such as the Prime Minister of Saxony, Stanislaw Tillich, or Member of the State Parliament, Frau Simone Lang.

‘It is an honor for us to be able to help the Bundeswehr at such an event, and we look forward to inspiring even more people about Nordic skiing,’ says Managing Director Peter Riedel about the event.
