March on Riedel Trails
The large hill in Trondheim was the first 'World Cup project' for Peter Riedel GmbH, the starting tracks in Nischny Tagil were laid in record construction times just a few weeks ago.
The large hill in Trondheim was the first 'World Cup project' for Peter Riedel GmbH, the starting tracks in Nischny Tagil were laid in record construction times a few weeks ago. Now the COC can compete there…
Peter Riedel, the Nordic Winter 2012/13 is coming to an end, the World Championships in Val di Fiemme are currently taking place – what impressions do you have from the competitions in Italy?
Well yes, it is always a great pleasure to watch the world's best skiers at work! The modernization of the ski jumping stadium in Predazzo has done good for the ambiance and I hope to be involved with my company in further restructuring in the future. In the meantime, Peter Riedel GmbH has proven enough to master all challenges and set new benchmarks.
After the world championship it continues with 'Riedel hills' – in the World Cup in Trondheim, in the Continental Cup in Nischny Tagil…
… and I am already looking forward to it! Between Norway and Russia, a circle is in a sense closing. The HS140 in Trondheim was the first facility, and moreover the first World Cup hill to be equipped with a double-track system from our house. You can imagine the thrill at the time – the question of whether everything would go well? To all who supported and assisted Peter Riedel GmbH back then, I remain grateful. Trondheim in a sense marks the entry into the real, big hill world, in which we now stand our ground day by day.
The athletes are thrilled with Trondheim, as one has heard.
Yes, thank goodness. It’s still about them, they are our real judges. But when, for example, combined star Mikko Kokslien, who trains a lot in Trondheim, talks about the starting track, he really raves: It is reliable under various weather conditions and provides an optimal gliding sensation, he says. And of course that pleases.
A few days later they will jump in Nischny Tagil. It is your currently youngest project.
Due to bureaucratic and organizational difficulties that were not in our control, we could only start assembly in Nischny Tagil very late. We completed the project at the depths of winter temperatures – and we are talking about -20, -30 degrees Celsius! – in record time. Our experts needed not even four weeks for installing the track – and also here, a heartfelt thanks to my people! The FIS Continental Cup ends there in mid-March on HS 134, and it is also a great finale of this winter for our company.
Where will you be found in March?
Here and there… maybe March 14-15 in Trondheim. More importantly, employees from my company will be present at both competition venues – to support when support is needed, and to observe what we can do better in the future. Not to be forgotten is the FIS Cup in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, held at the same time, where Peter Riedel GmbH also acts as sponsor.
Thank you for the interview and continued success!
