RASCHAU – Over 50 technical delegates of Nordic Combined were guests in the Peter Riedel GmbH workshop hall on Friday. In addition to a joint barbecue, a lecture on the “physics of ice” was on the evening program. Using a large, specially made ice block, company head Peter Riedel explained basic physical properties of ice and their influence on the start tracks in ski jumping. The evening was well received – not only because of the generous drinks offered by Weltenburger Klosterbrauerei, but especially because of the opportunity to experience the demands on the starting tracks live and tangible.
