The Olympia House – a place where you simply have to feel comfortable!

Garmisch and ski jumping, that simply belongs together! For 13 years we have been in the middle of the New Year Jump, not just along for the ride. This year, however, we unfortunately have to skip our beloved trip to Garmisch. Nevertheless, we want to use this year’s New Year Jump to say THANK YOU. Thanks to someone very special who deserves to be put in the spotlight.

What would our annual Garmisch trip be without the Olympiahaus! Almost every time we pitch our tents in the traditional house, whose history goes back to the Winter Olympics in Garmisch in 1936.

the “good soul of the house” and owner Katrin Ostermayer has given the guesthouse a unique charm with her style. From the rooms, which detail by detail make visitors’ hearts beat faster, you have a wonderful view of the ski jumps. Coupled with Bavarian coziness, felt in every corner of the house, it’s a unique combination. It’s no wonder that films have already been shot at the Olympiahaus, including the world-famous film “Eddie the Eagle.”

That the whole family stands behind the operation and the restaurant with body and soul is immediately evident. During a cozy meal on the terrace, served by the friendly staff, you feel on business trips as if you were on vacation. A little culinary tip: the Obatzna and the Kasnodels are the absolute hit! Add Bavarian beer and a hearty tune, and that’s all we need!

Over the years a wonderful friendship has developed between us and Katrin, of which we are very proud and look forward to every time we are allowed to travel to Partenkirchen for the tour. Katrin, THANK YOU for all your efforts and that you are such a kind and perfect host every time.

Even though we can’t be there this year, we are already looking forward to next time!
