The Ore Mountains visiting Villach

VILLACH - The 20th anniversary of the Villacher Alpen Arena was celebrated on Friday, June 3 with a large festival. A total of twelve sports from various clubs presented themselves in the year-round multi-purpose sports arena in Villach.
For such a ceremonial occasion, ski jumping and Nordic combined, which dominate Austria, should of course not be missing. Both sports were presented up close by SV Villach to the ski sport-enthusiastic visitors. And what could be better suited for such a demonstration than the Mobile Ski Jump from Peter Riedel GmbH? Small and large ski jumping fans experienced firsthand – and in a small, safe manner – what it means to ski down a jump and to time the takeoff correctly.
As a partner of the Austrian Ski Association, it was a matter of honor for the Saxon company to support the Villach team at this event. All the more so since ÖSV ski jumping coach Heinz Kuttin himself took the opening of the event, and together they could inspire even more people for the sport of skiing.
On the sidelines of the event, head Peter Riedel also took the opportunity to meet the new organizing committee for the 2016 Summer Grand Prix of Nordic Combined in Villach. “Villach will host the Grand Prix after Oberwiesenthal at the end of August; it is good and important to start contacting each other early and exchange ideas,” explained Riedel, who also serves as president of the OK in Oberwiesenthal.
