Riedel rejoices with the Vienna 'Super eagles'
“RASCHAU/BERCHTESGADEN, September 22, 2013 – 'You have to imagine that,' even Peter Riedel is pleasantly surprised. 'There is a club whose nearest hill for children's training is 100 kilometers away in Mürzzuschlag, and yet the Vienna city eagles win the club standings of the 15th Children's Four-Hill Tournament!' This event series concluded on Saturday (Sept 21) in Berchtesgaden. The Viennese won with 1384 points clearly ahead of Bischofshofen (1269) and Kitzbühel (1018). But more importantly! Philipp Wadsak took the overall lead in the K10 class (second place of the day). Further podium finishes in the final standings went to Benedikt Lechner, who finished second in K8 (second place for the day in Berchtesgaden), Louis Obersteiner (K9/third of the day), and Katrin Palicka (M1/fourth of the day), each finishing third in the overall standings.
Peter Riedel, whose company was one of the (few) main sponsors of this year's Children's Four-Hill Tournament, congratulates: 'Simply wonderful what the city eagles have shown consistently over four competitions. This shows what can be achieved with great commitment and a lot of heart: training young skiers, even when training conditions are not ideal.'
The Saxon entrepreneur points to the possibilities from his house. 'Our mobile K4 hill system has proven its value as a promotion tool, and it would be nice to see it standing in Vienna as well, perhaps in front of St. Stephen's Cathedral.' There have been inquiries in the past. Of course, Riedel is also available when it comes to laying the current world-best approach tracks on youth hills. 'With ski jumping hills in Vienna, much more would be possible for the Vienna city eagles in the future,' says Riedel, and he is not alone in this view...
